Have your say on abortion law reform

As part of the process to reform abortion law in South Australia the SA government has asked the South Australian Law Reform Institute (SALRI) to review the present laws and consider how they can be modernised to reflect current clinical practice.

SALRI will be consulting with the public throughout their review – this includes an online survey which individuals can complete via the government’s YourSAy website – open until 31 May 2019.

saaac’s view is that:

  • abortion should be completely removed from the criminal law

and

  • there should be no new law specific to abortion introduced in to health law – with one exception, that there should be safe access zones.

If you would like any assistance with your survey answers please refer to our ‘Tips on responding to SALRI’ or our fact sheets for further information.
